Brigid Cherry is a senior lecturer in Media Arts at St Mary’s University College where she teaches courses on horror cinema, cult film & television, and youth culture, among others. She recently written a film guidebook on horror cinema for Routledge. She has carried out research on a range of fan cultures, including the female horror film audience and science fiction audiences. She has published work in the area of gender, nationality and identity in science fiction fandom, in both online and face-to-face fan communities. She has also written on Jan Svankmajer and The Wicker Man, as well as vampire cinema and the Gothic.
